Apabila pendaki tidak memenuhi atau mengikuti standar berpakaian diantartika​ akan menyebabkan sesak napas dan kedinginan. Kesehatan dan keamanan selama mendaki gunung sangat dipengaruhi oleh pemenuhan standar berpakaian mendaki.

Pembahasan

Mendaki gunung adalah suatu kegiatan berpetualang di alam terbuka menuju ke tempat yang lebih tinggi ke puncak gunung. Mendaki gunung adalah suatu olahraga keras penuh petualangan dan kegiatan ini membutuhkan keterampilan, kecerdasan, kekuatan dan daya juang yang tinggi. Bahaya dan tantangan seakan hendak mengungguli merupakan daya tarik kegiatan ini. Pada hakekatnya bahaya dan tantangan tersebut adalah untuk menguji kemampuan diri dan untuk bias menyatu dengan alam.

Faktor pendukung keberhasilan dalam pendakian gunung terdiri dari faktor-faktor teknis seperti, persiapan manejerial pendaki gunung yaitu kelengkapan oprasional dan safety procedure, persiapan administrasi. Untuk menjadi seorang pendaki gunung yang handal tidak hanya berdasarkan pada segi teknis semata, namun faktor non teknis seperti aspek mental atau kejiwaan  seperti motivasi, rasa percaya diri, faktor emosional serta keperibadian sang pendaki sangat berpegaruh.
